The purpose of this organization shall be to Connect AU students with real world professional statisticians and data scientists. Help students to increase their knowledge and overview on statistics and data science fields by creating workshops, seminars, bringing some guest speakers to the campus etc. so that we can provide something to the students that they are missing the classroom and are very essential in the real-life workplace. Build a statistical and data science community at AU to help each other grow. The American Statistical Association is the world’s largest community of statisticians that support excellence in the development, application, and dissemination of statistical science. As an ASA student chapter at American University, we provide opportunities for students to connect with prominent statisticians and data scientists, as well as encourage students to continue studying statistics and provide career information in statistical and data science. Our mission is to engage AU students' learning skills on Data Science and Statistical Methods and to understand how to leverage the power of data and statistics in a real-world environment by using different tools, technology, and mechanisms such as Statistical Analysis, Data Visualization, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. Our goal is to advance students as future data scientists and statisticians by providing opportunities to learn, grow and build their network with professionals.
