Armanee Cares Community & Wellness Club
Long Beach City College
The Armanee Cares Community & Wellness Club is a student-led organization dedicated to education, advocacy, and service related to disability inclusion, family wellness, grief awareness, and community care. The club provides a supportive and inclusive space for students to learn, connect, and engage in meaningful dialogue around the social, emotional, and systemic challenges faced by individuals and families. The club’s primary focus is student development through awareness-building, leadership growth, and service-learning opportunities. Members participate in educational workshops, guest speaker discussions, peer-led conversations, and campus activities that promote empathy, cultural responsiveness, and inclusive practices. Students are encouraged to explore how disability, loss, and wellness intersect with education, healthcare, family systems, and community support. In addition to on-campus education and advocacy, the club offers opportunities for students to participate in volunteer service with approved community organizations. These experiences allow students to gain hands-on exposure to community-based wellness initiatives while developing professional skills such as communication, teamwork, ethical engagement, and compassionate leadership. Participation in volunteer activities is optional and aligned with Long Beach City College policies. Through education, advocacy, and service, the club prepares students to become informed, empathetic leaders committed to strengthening community wellness and inclusion. Members from diverse academic backgrounds are welcome, and no prior experience is required to participate meaningfully and consistently each semester.
