Beekeeping Society at American University is open to all students. American University student organizations shall not discriminate in membership or benefits on the basis of any individual’s personal identity or characteristics, including but not limited to race, color, national origin (or shared ancestry), religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status. Beekeeping Society is committed to ethical and sustainable beekeeping on American University’s campus, and to educate AU about the importance of pollinators and sustainability on campus. On campus, we maintain beehives, host events educating students about bees and their importance to our ecosystem, as well as host speakers to discuss their experience with beekeeping and environmentalism from around the DMV area.
