Organizational Summary Black in Business promotes professional, cultural, and community growth by creating spaces for opportunity, connection, and learning centered around business and career development at Boston College. Through panels, networking opportunities, and community-centered events, we explore professional pathways within business while highlighting the experiences and contributions of professionals with varying perspectives across many industries. Black in Business welcomes all students to engage in our events to understand more about navigating the journey of finding a career in business Organization Description Black in Business is a student-led community that supports students as they explore and pursue careers in the business world. We aim to foster an environment in which students feel supported and encouraged in pursuing their professional ambitions. Our goal is to create a space where members can connect with alumni, industry professionals, and peers while building the skills, confidence, and networks needed to succeed in competitive career paths. We bring this mission to life through alumni panels, networking events, and community-driven programs that give students real exposure to careers in fields like finance, consulting, technology, and marketing. These events facilitate meaningful relationships with people who have walked the same path and can share both their successes and lessons learned. Black in Business complements the resources already available on campus to help guide students who are navigating professional opportunities. Beyond professional development, our organization adds to the Boston College experience by fostering inclusion and belonging. Our open events welcome anyone interested in learning about diversity and opportunity in the business world. We contribute to the campus community by centering a diverse range of voices in conversations about career development, while also collaborating with groups such as the Career Center and the Thea Bowman AHANA and Intercultural Center (BAIC) to ensure our members have access to the tools and resources they need. Rooted in Boston College’s Jesuit values, we take the principle of Cura Personalis — care for the whole person. For us, that means not only helping students advance academically and professionally, but also supporting their personal growth and encouraging them to lead with integrity and purpose. To ensure our impact lasts, we’ve built a leadership structure that includes students from multiple class years and brings in new representatives each academic year. This creates continuity, mentorship, and a strong foundation for the future of the club. With passionate leaders, committed members, and a clear succession plan, we believe Black in Business will grow into a lasting presence at Boston College. Ultimately, Black in Business is about more than networking or resumes — it’s about giving students the resources, community, and inspiration to flourish, and helping Boston College live out its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
