Black Professionals in International Affairs
George Washington University
Founded in 2020, The George Washington University Black Professionals in International Affairs (BPIA) is dedicated to enhancing, promoting, and increasing African and African diaspora (African-American, Afro-Latinx, Afro-Caribbean) participation, conversation, and perspective in both the Elliott School of International Affairs and the field of international affairs overall. BPIA has a goal of affirming, valuing, and amplifying the voices and concerns of Black students in the Elliott School of International Affairs on and off campus, as well as, strengthening and encouraging one another in what can be an alienating field. This organization aims to provide a supportive, enriching environment for fostering intellectual community and facilitating the development of both African and African Diaspora studies and thought.
