Mission: To identify, interrogate, and challenge prevailing societal norms, injustices, and assumptions through the creation and performance of original plays that prioritize low-budget production elements. Objectives:1) Provide an inclusive forum where all may develop, present, and refine their own dramatic works.2) Promote collaborative dramaturgy: script-editing, workshopping, and peer feedback.3) Connect active Boston playwrights with college students for the benefit of networking, workshops, and mentorship opportunities.4) Stage concise, resource-lean performances—minimal set, props, and technical requirements—to focus on narrative tension, character interplay, and thematic impact.5) Emphasize small cast sizes to deepen actor relationships and heighten dramatic stakes.6) Encourage non-proscenium configurations (e.g., thrust, in-the-round, promenade) to foster audience immersion and creative staging.7) Cultivate playwright skills, critical thinking, and community engagement through theater.
