DSU is committed to dismantling ableism and interlocking forms of oppression while building community. From advocacy across the DMV to community care for disabled students on campus, we welcome all students to join us in pushing for and practicing disability justice. We have no end goal, for disability justice will never be complete. We enact collective access and intersectional thinking to welcome all students to DSU. We aim toward a friendly, compassionate world where ability doesn’t define worth in our advocacy and in the social belonging we foster. As we promote change at the university and around the DMV area, we will enlist the help of disabled students at AU, disabled staff and faculty at AU, and allies and accomplices to the disability community. Along with our physical meetings and actions, we are committed to providing online ways to engage with our club, like social media content and hybrid meetings, as we create community through cross-disability solidarity.
