In 1865, two years after Boston College was founded, a group of students performed the show Joseph and His Brethern. Thus the Dramatics Society was born, making it the oldest student-run organization on campus. The Dramatics Society (fondly referred to as DS, for short) is committed to developing talent and giving opportunities for theatrical expression in the Boston College community by awakening and nurturing an appreciation for good theatre in the members of that community, and presenting plays of artistic merit. We generally produce two productions a year- one in the Fall Semester and one in the Spring Semester.
