Boston College
EcoPledge is a student-led organization that works toward making Boston College a more sustainable campus. EcoPledge educates and engages the BC community in current sustainability topics, including fossil fuel use, energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, environmental racism, and much more. EcoPledge is always growing and is proud to have an active team from all class years working together on important environmental issues, subcategorized into our Activism, Volunteer, Outreach, and Events Committees. The club promotes causes through film, lectures, art shows, celebratory events, and awareness events such as Green Week, Harvest Fest, and much more. EcoPledge also collaborates regularly with other organizations on campus to strengthen the sustainability presence at Boston College. EcoPledge also runs campus-wide campaigns to promote water and energy conservation. EcoPledge members often go beyond campus, participating in local community clean-ups, national environmental conferences, and hiking and camping outings throughout New England. EcoPledge pledges to continue collaborating with faculty, staff, and fellow students in campaigning for a more sustainable BC campus. This year, we hope to further strengthen our student participation and club collaboration in order to promote dialogue and visibility of sustainability issues on campus.
