The Environmental Justice Action Network (EJAN) is a group of GW students dedicated to advancing and bringing awareness to the field of Environmental Justice. EJAN, much like the Environmental Justice (EJ) Movement, is multifaceted. EJAN’s first focal point is education, where its members discuss books, current events, and attend webinars related to EJ issues. EJAN strives to be inclusive and intersectional when educating others and researching these topics. EJAN’s second focus is action-centered. EJAN members directly volunteer within marginalized communities and collaborate with them to alleviate their environmental stresses. The last concentration of EJAN is advocacy. EJAN elevates awareness of EJ issues both on the GW campus and into the broader D.C. community. EJAN is a community of GW students that strive to uphold the ideals of EJ and is building a radical coalition of like-minded social justice-oriented students that want to make a change in their community.
