Catholic University of America
The purpose of Catholic University Esports is: To allow Members of the Catholic University community to discuss, practice, scrimmage and compete in any other University approved games on a competitive level; To develop and build on existing skills for CatholicU Esports team members to help elevate our program to a widely-known, highly-competitive collegiate team; To connect student, faculty, and staff who have an interest in Esports; To work closely with and support the Catholic University gaming community to bring students together in a social and positive setting, especially through events; and, To promote the education and development of students through participation in Esports on campus at a recreational level. For the purposes of this program, “Esports” are defined to be those activities that: Are primarily or solely played electronically; are competitive, that is to say, have a winner(s) and a loser(s), and whose winner and loser is primarily (although not necessarily entirely) determined by the skill of those competing, as opposed to outside factors, such as luck, competition conditions, etc. Note that these conditions are meant to be inclusive of all activities which might be considered Esports. Additionally, this club shall distinguish between competitive and recreational Esports games and participants. Any team that has established an operational roster and has been approved by the Executive Members and Catholic University will serve as the “primary games,” in which reactions, input precision and speed, etc. play a majority role in determining the winner. Any additional games, will be considered “secondary games” in which community involvement is designed for recreational purposes only. Our Competitive Teams will compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference.
