Gamma Iota Sigma is the premier collegiate fraternity for students interested in learning about or pursue a career in the actuarial science, risk management, and insurance-related financial services industry. Our chapter's mission, for over 40 years now, is to bring the educational, technical, and professional resources of Gamma Iota Sigma to a diverse student community at Howard University. Along with the Center of Insurance Education within the School of Business, Gamma Iota Sigma has built a strong relationship with leading insurance companies and top insurance professionals internationally. As the first of only 2 HBCU chapters of the organization, our fraternity would like to continue to expose minority students (of all majors) to the opportunities and the resources within the organization and the insurance industry.
