Legal issues involving gender and sexuality are prevalent in civil rights and discrimination cases, employment law, military and veterans issues, immigration policies, public school representation and administration, foster care and juvenile justice, public accommodations and housing, and criminal law. Moreover, issues of religious liberty are often presented in this context, allowing the Law School to make a unique contribution to the exploration of the juxtaposition of these legal issues. The Gender and Sexuality Law Forum will sponsor fora where all viewpoints are invited, discussed, and respected. GSLF will also serve as a liaison between the professional law community practicing in this area and the student body through alumni mentoring programs and networking events that introduce students to practitioners in this area of law. At all times, the GSLF will demonstrate respect for the University and Law School mission statements by providing, in particular, opportunities to advance “the dialogue between faith and reason.”
