The purpose of this organization shall be to utilize an intersectional approach to understanding and combatting gun violence in the DC community, working in coalition with other on-campus and community organizations to facilitate programming to educate the American University community on gun violence prevention, and center student voices and experiences to further the effectiveness of the gun violence prevention movement. This organization is open to all students that meet our membership requirements and university guidelines for non-discrimination, sexual harassment, and Title IX. American University student organizations shall not discriminate in membership or benefits on the basis of any individual’s personal identity or characteristics, including but not limited to race, color, national origin (or shared ancestry), religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.
