First Gen United is a student organization for first-generation college students. We consider you a first-generation student—or “first-gen” for short—if one or both of your parents did not graduate from a four-year college or the equivalent in the United States. Being a first-gen student is something to celebrate and we seek to help first-generation college students soar to success. By assisting with acclimation, academics, and advocacy, we encourage students to gain confidence and grow professionally while seeking career-enriching opportunities.
