The purpose and goals of this organization are to (1) educate about and increase awareness of MCH issues and projects within the United States and abroad; (2) develop, foster, and sustain MCH competencies that extend beyond academic curricula and focus on research and real-world applications (3) connect students with service and learning opportunities in MCH; (4) create opportunities for mentorship and learning among alumni and students of George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health; (4) provide opportunities for interaction and community engagement among students interested in MCH, as well as MCH faculty and staff; (5) develop opportunities to enhance skills to increase preparedness to join the MCH workforce; and (6) support research interests that address priority needs of MCH populations, locally, nationally and globally and increase the evidence base for decision-makers and practitioners.
