Habitat for Humanity works toward our vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with families in need of decent and affordable housing. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Habitat AU aims to promote, advocate, and serve the Washington Metropolitan community, and effect similar change nationally and internationally. We establish this chapter with the goals of involving students in selfless service for their community, spreading awareness of the local need for affordable housing, and to bring our community at AU and in the DC/Metro area closer through acts of kindness and service.
