Hawaiʻi Club
George Washington University
E komo mai! Welcome to the Hawaiʻi Club, a support network for students from Hawaiʻi and anyone interested in learning about the unique culture of the islands. Our mission is to foster a sense belonging at The George Washington University by sharing and celebrating the rich heritage, traditions, and values of Hawaiʻi and the broader Pacific Islands. Through our events, we hope to educate the GW community about the vibrant history and customs while also providing a home away from home for students far from the islands. Throughout the year, we host a variety of events and activities that showcase the spirit of aloha and immerse our members in the cultural traditions of Hawaiʻi. Some of our signature events include: Annual Lūʻau: Our biggest event of the year, featuring Hawaiian cuisine, music, and performances that bring the warmth and hospitality of the islands to the GW campus. Hula Workshops: An opportunity to learn and experience the art of hula, a storytelling dance that reflects the history and heart of Hawaiʻi. Cultural Exchanges: We collaborate with other AAPI student organizations to celebrate the diverse cultures of the Pacific and foster cross-cultural understanding. Spam Musubi & Ramen Nights: A taste of home with classic comfort foods from Hawaiʻi, offering students a chance to connect over familiar flavors and good company. Whether you’re from Hawaiʻi, have ties to the islands, or simply want to learn more about our culture, we invite you to join us. The Hawaiʻi Club is a place where you can embrace the aloha spirit, make lifelong connections, and experience the traditions that make our islands so special. Here is our 2025-26 Interest Form! Mahalo nui loa, and we look forward to welcoming you into our ʻohana!
