The life of chess at Howard University, the Howard University Chess Club! We are a club dedicated to creating an environment for students who love to play chess. If you’re someone who likes to travel and compete in FIDE regulated tournaments, or maybe you're someone who just likes to try new things and are trying chess for the first time, our club strives to serve all players of all experiences. Throughout the semester we hold interactive lessons and assign tutors to students who want focused learning. We participate in the Chess.com Ambassador program and receive support from Chess.com themselves with event planning, merchandise, and prize funding. Through these methods, we hope to allow all bison the opportunity to bulldoze a rook down a file, march a pawn through their enemy’s fortress, and trample over their opponents as a bison does.
