The Irish Research Association at The Catholic University of America, established under a constitution rooted in reverence for the Most Holy Trinity, is dedicated to preserving and promoting Ireland’s rich cultural heritage, language, and history. Founded by students acknowledging their divine obligations and inspired by Ireland’s resilient spirit, the association seeks to foster appreciation for the culture of Éire, revive the endangered Irish language, and deepen understanding of Irish history—from ancient Brehon Laws to the Easter Rising. Guided by principles of unity, reverence for An Ghaeilge, cultural preservation, and respect for Ireland’s land and kinship, the club rejects partition and champions self-determination while honoring the Catholic faith’s role in shaping Irish identity. Open to all students who respect these principles, the association encourages rigorous scholarship and community solidarity. Led by the Uachtarán and a cabinet, it organizes monthly meetings and events to explore Ireland’s music, oral traditions, and spiritual legacy. The club adheres to university policies, rejects hazing, and upholds non-discrimination, striving to ensure Ireland’s cultural vitality endures for future generations through education, celebration, and steadfast commitment.
