It's On Us at American University works to create a community in which students and survivors feel safe from sexual violence on campus. To do so, we plan to educate students on: sexual assault prevention techniques, how to stay safe on campus, how to report sexual assault/harassment, bystander intervention, and about the Title IX process. Additionally, we engage in advocacy for survivors and ending sexual assault as well as rape culture on campus. This organization strives to promote a safe space on campus for all survivors regardless of sexual orientation, race, and gender identity. By educating students about sexual violence and assault, we hope to foster a safer community that encourages students to report sexual violence, feel comfortable with the resources available on campus, and destigmatize rape culture at American University. It's On Us at American University is open to all students. American University student organizations shall not discriminate in membership or benefits on the basis of any individual’s personal identity or characteristics, including but not limited to race, color, national origin (or shared ancestry), religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.
