The mission of the Jewish Law Students Association at American University Washington College of Law is to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive community where Jewish law students and their allies can connect socially, culturally, and spiritually. The organization celebrates Jewish identity through traditions, holidays, and shared experiences while also supporting students’ professional development by offering networking opportunities and programming that highlight the relationship between Jewish values and the legal profession. A core part of the mission is to actively confront antisemitism, bias, and discrimination—both on campus and within the broader legal community—through advocacy, education, and collaboration with institutional partners. Additionally, the JLSA serves as a resource for the entire AUWCL community, encouraging open dialogue and deeper understanding of Jewish history, culture, and modern issues.   Participation in our organization and its AUWCL events is open to all members of the AU community, regardless of background. Our events, programs, and activities are inclusive and do not restrict participation based on personal identity or characteristics, including but not limited to race, color, national origin (or shared ancestry), religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.
