The John Fylpaa Leadership Institute is a "FREE" seven-month, seven-session program that includes a mandatory orientation and a two-night weekend retreat. The institute's goal is to create civic leaders through monthly workshops that will consist of field trips, guest speakers, and community projects. At the end of each cohort, two scholarships are given, and the students who complete the program will receive a certificate of completion and transcript notation stating that the student completed the institute. Minimum qualifications for the leadership institute: 2.5 or better GPA 67% or better completion ratio Enrolled in at least 9 units in the fall 2026 and the spring 2027 semesters Copy of current unofficial LBCC transcript (unless you are a new student) Must be in good standing with the college Must attend all mandatory meetings You may only miss one of the non-mandatory sessions.
