Founded in 1984-1985, the Latin American Law Student Association (LALSA)* provides a forum for Latino/a issues, both international and domestic, that are important to current students of American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL). *Formerly known as the Hispanic Law Students’ Association (HLSA) from 1984-2006 Participation in LALSA and its AUWCL events is open to all members of the AU community, regardless of background. LALSA's events, programs, and activities are inclusive and do not restrict participation based on personal identity or characteristics, including but not limited to race, color, national origin (or shared ancestry), religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.
