Boston College
We are the home for independent musicians at Boston College. We organize performances of various sizes, from Open Mics, to Battle of the Bands, to Dorm Sessions. Our Open Mics are open to any student looking to perform, regardless of experience. For more experienced students, our Battle of the Bands is the perfect opportunity to showcase your talent to the broader Boston College community. There is also a Singer-Songwriter Competition that occurs simultaneously, as well as a similar scale performance in the first semester called the Fall Showcase. Our Dorm Sessions are a spin on NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts, giving more experienced students the opportunity to showcase their talent to an in-person audience, as well as a larger online audience. This is a great opportunity to create high-quality recorded content. We also provide students with a practice space stocked with music equipment in Carney Hall. Here, members can find a drum kit, guitars, a piano, a bass, amps, mics, and a PA. Additional equipment is available upon request. You do not need any musical experience or knowledge to be in this club. Some of the main tasks members focus on are event planning, marketing, live and recorded sound, and equipment logistics. Or, you can simply show up to events and get to know fellow musicians and music enthusiasts at Boston College.
