Welcome to the DC Alpha Chapter of Pi Beta Phi! Located in the heart of our nation’s capital, we have 104 dedicated members who make up a vibrant, unique, and diverse community. Our members are leaders both inside and outside of Pi Beta Phi. Apart from their involvement and commitment to our chapter, our members are active in organizations such as GW Women in Business, She’s the First GW, The Hatchet, GW Program Board, Dance Marathon, Alternative Breaks, student theater, music groups, and club sports. Our community also consists of NCAA Division 1 athletes, Student Association leaders, and undergraduate researchers. Because of our unique location, our members take advantage of our nation’s capital, interning at places such as the U.S. Congress, the Smithsonian, DC Public Schools, and at non-profit, consulting and lobbying firms throughout the city. One of the core aspects of our membership is supporting our national philanthropy, Read > Lead > Achieve, which supports children’s literacy. With events like Lemonade for Literacy and Pi Phi Gives You Wings, we participate in philanthropic activities all year long. Many of our members also tutor children in DC through programs such as Reading Partners and Jumpstart.
