Pretty Period is an all-inclusive organization that is taking the initiative to create a platform that advocates against rape culture, colorism, homophobia, and body shaming. In doing so, the organization hopes to bring a sense of unification to campus in the form of bringing awareness toward valuable principalities.The organization “Pretty Period” is the base of establishing a platform to create engagement between women and the LGBTQ community on Howard’s campus. It will be used to advocate against rape-culture, colorism, homophobia, body shaming and building a strong student presence where women and the LGBTQ community feel as if they are welcome to have a safe space and the ability to express themselves freely. We want to come together, stick together and help each other get to the next level. It is important that we realize the potentials that we have within ourselves and to be able to make an impact to share, not just on campus, but with the world collectively.
