The Puerto Rican Student Organization at American University works to engage and empower Puerto Rican, Latinx, and non-Latinx students to raise awareness on Puerto Rican social, political, economic, and racial issues. It acts as a safe space for students and community members to gather and celebrate Puerto Rican culture and Spanish language. PRSO serves as a platform for students to hold discussions and activities on Puerto Rican and Latinx issues to further raise awareness and educate the American University and DC community. Open to all students. American University student organizations shall not discriminate in membership or benefits on the basis of any individual’s personal identity or characteristics, including but not limited to race, color, national origin (or shared ancestry), religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.
