The Remote Area Medical (RAM) Club at George Washington University is the official GW chapter of Remote Area Medical, a nationally recognized nonprofit that has delivered free medical, dental, and vision care to hundreds of thousands of underserved Americans. As a student organization, we are dedicated to carrying that mission forward by promoting healthcare equity and organizing volunteer trips where students can participate in delivering medical services to those in need. In addition to national outreach, the RAM Club works to improve healthcare access in Washington, D.C., through local clinics and community outreach programs. Our club provides valuable hands-on experience for students pursuing careers in healthcare, offering them the opportunity to work alongside medical professionals in real-world settings. Beyond service, the RAM Club is committed to advocating for healthcare equity and raising awareness about healthcare disparities. We work closely with the national RAM organization, and our long-term goal is to expand our efforts, inspire future healthcare professionals, and build a community dedicated to improving the lives of others through compassionate service. Membership in the RAM Club is open to all George Washington University students, with active members engaging in meetings, volunteer activities, and leadership opportunities. The club is also supported by faculty, staff, and community members who contribute to our mission. Through dedication, compassion, and respect, the RAM Club at GWU seeks to make a meaningful impact in both local and national healthcare initiatives.
