This organization is open to all AU students. The Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics & Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) at AU is a chapter of the national SACNAS organization that fosters a community of students who are dedicated to studying and pursuing careers in the STEM field. Despite the focus of its name, SACNAS represents all populations of students in the STEM field. SACNAS at AU aims to allow every student in STEM to feel seen, become aware of academic/professional opportunities, and form connections with peers and professionals from similar backgrounds. American University student organizations shall not discriminate in membership or benefits on the basis of any individual’s personal identity or characteristics, including but not limited to race, color, national origin (or shared ancestry), religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.
