The "Screaming Eagles" Marching Band is the largest and most visible student organization at Boston College. Students in the college band are more engaged with diversity, more likely to try to understand different perspectives, and more likely to indicate an array of characteristics associated with responsible citizenship including voting, becoming involved in their communities, and being committed to solving complex real world problems. After controlling for 20 pre- and co-existing variables, the strongest predictor of students indicating these fundamental outcomes of a college education is participation in the college marching band.
