According to Time Magazine, "Sigma Chi is easily the most solid and well known fraternity in America". Sigma Chi recently held our 150th anniversary, and became the only Fraternity to be honored by the United States Congress. As one of the oldest and largest Greek organizations, with over 240 chapters, we have a long and proud tradition. Sigma Chi was founded on June 28, 1855 at Miami University in Ohio. The fundamental purpose of the Sigma Chi Fraternity is the cultivation, maintenance, and accomplishment of the ideals of friendship, justice, and learning within our membership. Our Fraternity does not haze and we strongly encourage our members to excel academically, civically, and socially outside our organization.
