Sine Institute
American University
The Sine Institute is a nonpartisan Institute of Politics (IOP) at American University. Our mission is to bring all voices to the table and create a space where those with a variety of perspectives, experiences, and beliefs can convene, communicate and collaborate, addressing the issues that impact us all. Through our Sine Fellowship and Sine Distinguished Lecturer programs, we host free, on-campus events with prominent speakers throughout the year. Our Fellows and speakers have included Members of Congress, governors, members of the media, advocates, activists, astronauts, actors, professional athletes, and many others. We also conduct research on Gen Z in politics and other areas by conducting an annual poll of young Americans ages 18-34, uncovering new information on their perspectives regarding political leadership, higher education, technology, AI, and other critical topics. Whatever your interest areas are, we want to meet you! Please stay tuned and help spread the word about our programs, speakers, research, and upcoming events. If you are and AU undergraduate or graduate student interested in getting involved with the Sine Institute, you can find more information here.
