The St. Thomas More Society is a student organization named after the English martyr who was chancellor of England under Henry VIII. It is dedicated to promoting the rich heritage of the Catholic faith on campus. The members of STM seek to grow in their love for Jesus Christ and to deepen their knowledge of Catholic doctrine and intellectual tradition. The group meets every Monday from 6:00pm to 6:50pm in St. Mary’s Chapel for Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, with opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Afterward, from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in Stokes Hall, follows Theology by the Slice, which includes pizza and a talk on some important issues of faith and culture in today’s world. Besides the Monday meetings, STM sponsors cultural outings and trips, debates, symposia, and one retreat per semester. STM seeks to foster a community of students who want to grow closer to God, and to engage students and groups of all backgrounds in our effort to spread the love of Christ on campus. All students are welcome to participate in any activities of STM regardless of religious affiliation.
