American University
The mission of the Mexican Cultural Club at American University is to enrich the cultural diversity and patrimony of the university. The club would create a safe space for Mexicans, people of Mexican descent and anyone interested in the Mexican culture, and through showcases of Mexican culture and heritage show a broader base of students and faculty the beauty of Mexico and Mexicans. However, our club is open to all students who wish to join. Through the creation of this club, we not only foster a community with common interests, visions, and values, but also create a sense of belonging, familiarity, and community for anyone who chooses to join. Creating this club also serves as an opportunity for the student body to learn about Mexican culture through various recreational activities, charity events, panels, and talks.
