The Music Industry Network (MIN) is a student organization designed to bridge the gap between creative passion and business strategy. MIN brings together artists, producers, songwriters, and students interested in the business side of music. MIN is rooted in the idea of vocational discernment, identifying what brings us joy, what we are skilled at, and what the industry truly needs, encouraging students to explore how their creative instincts and professional ambitions can coexist. Through café-style listening parties, guest speakers, industry panels, and conversations with professionals across label management, streaming strategy, publishing, live events, and entertainment law, MIN demystifies pathways into the music industry. We aim to make careers in music feel less distant and more tangible by exposing students to real-world strategy, evolving global trends, and the business frameworks that support artistic success. Beyond programming, MIN connects students across disciplines and existing music groups on campus,  fostering on campus collaboration, and promotes awareness of Boston’s live music scene to encourage community engagement beyond campus. By showing up for local shows, participating in case competitions, and learning from industry leaders, members gain both cultural awareness and strategic insight. Our mission, to “bring your passion to the spotlight”, reflects our belief that talent deserves both community and structure. By combining artistic expression with practical industry knowledge, MIN empowers students to develop not only their sound, but their long-term vision within the evolving global music industry.
