United Against Inequities in Disease
American University
United Against Inequities in Disease (UAID) at American University is a student organization dedicated to reducing health disparities in our local D.C. area by leveraging the power of research and developing community-based initiatives. Through a community health needs assessment, we identify key health needs through comprehensive data collection. By collaborating with local non-profits and organizations, we create a sustainable project to address the inequity found in our research. On campus, UAID works to advocate by hosting discussions and speakers to raise awareness of health disparities. We also present opportunities for students to receive health equity certificates, leadership training, and attend networking events. Open to all students. American University student organizations shall not discriminate in membership or benefits on the basis of any individual’s personal identity or characteristics, including but not limited to race, color, national origin (or shared ancestry), religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.
