About the Libraries The University Libraries provide access to our cultural and scientific heritage through resources and services and cooperate actively with the faculty and students in the teaching, learning and research process. The print collections consist of more than 1.4 million books and journals, and the Libraries provide access to tens of thousands of full-text electronic journals and books. The John K. Mullen of Denver Memorial Library provides a variety of study spaces to accommodate collaborative and individual learning and provide technologies that support the use of library resources, including scanning and printing. Related academic units that provide tutoring services are located in Mullen Library and include the Center for Academic and Career Success, the Math Center and the Writing Center. The Semitics/ICOR Library specializes in the languages of the ancient Near East and the languages, literatures, and history of the Christian Near East. The American Catholic History Research Center and University Archives, located in Aquinas Hall, preserves the records of the University and manuscripts and artifacts which document the heritage of American Catholics. Rare Books contains printed books and pamphlets dating from the 1470s, including the Clementine Library and the Foster Stearns Collection on the Knights of Malta. Catholic University and eight other university libraries form the Washington Research Library Consortium (WRLC). Students and faculty may visit, borrow from, and order books and articles online from the other WRLC libraries. Research assistance is available at the information desk as well as by phone and email. Personal consultations with librarians also are encouraged for more in-depth research assistance. Librarians also provide research workshops, training in online research and information literacy, and course-related instruction sessions. Study Spaces Mullen Library has a variety of study spaces available on all three floors. Whether you want to work with a group or work in quiet isolation, we have a space that is just right for you. Computers and Wi-Fi If you do not have your own computer, do not worry! Desktop PCs are available on the first and second floors of Mullen Library, and you can check out a laptop at the circulation desk. Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. DVDs and Games Check out our collection of DVDs and board games at the Circulation Desk. We have classic and popular movies, as well as full seasons of television series. Popular Reading A collection of popular titles is available on the first floor of Mullen Library. This collection is updated each month, and titles can be checked out for three weeks. Subject Guides Our liaison librarians have prepared guides on a multitude of subjects. These guides are a great place to start your research, and often include resources from outside our traditional library collections. Find them at guides.lib.cua.edu. LinkedIn Learning We are proud to provide LinkedIn Learning, an online video training library offering more than 7,500 self-paced training classes on a wide range of computer and project management skills for beginner, intermediate, and advanced users. Schedule a Consultation with your Liaison Librarian Students and faculty may schedule consultations with their liaison librarians using Meet With a Librarian at cua.libcal.com. Tutoring Services Mullen Library is now home to the tutoring services offered by the Center for Academic and Career Success and The Writing Center, under the aegis of the Department of English.
